In Honor of Our Community Heroes
During the Pandemic of 2020

During the pandemic of 2020, Troop 865 became inspired to create a Garden of Gratitude for the community heroes and helpers keeping them safe.
To build the garden, Troop 865 and their Junior Bronze Award team researched North Fork native pollinator plants, designed a layout with assistance and advice on plants from a local nursery, Trimbles, and are planting a garden with help from the community with plants sponsored by Trimbles. The garden includes over 20 varieties of native plants.
Mattituck Park District & Troop 865's wish is for the community to tour the garden to see examples of Long Island's native pollinator plants and to learn more about plants that can be used in their own gardens while being grateful for our frontline workers during the pandemic of 2020.
