ELECTION RESULTS

The Mattituck Park District has certified the election. In order of votes received, Nicholas Deegan and Charles Guelli have won the Commissioners' race. Congratulations to the winners.

ABSENTEE BALLOT EXTENSION

Due to an an inadvertent scrivener's error between the legal notice published in the Suffolk Times and those published on the website and Facebook, there is still one more day to pick up an absentee ballot at the MPD Office. The Office is open today 10 November until 2 and tomorrow 11 November as well. Apologies for the confusion.

ELECTION FOR COMMISSIONER
12 November 2020

The Mattituck Pard District has certified four candidates for the November Election for the two open Commissioner positions: Charles Guelli, Denise Goehringer-Geis, Nicholas Deegan, and Maria Santigate. (In order of submission and certification.)

A reminder that in-person voting will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park on Great Peconic Bay Boulevard in Mattituck on 12 November 2020. In order to vote, you must be registered to vote in the 2020 General Election and you must be a resident of the Mattituck Fire District, which includes all of the hamlet of Mattituck and the Southold portion of Laurel. Please follow all usual social distancing guidelines when coming to place your vote.

Applications for an Absentee Ballot are available either by coming in person to the Mattituck Park District Office (open weekdays from 9.30 – 2.00). You may also submit a request via email to: info@mattituckparkdistrict.org . The MPD has to receive your application by 5 November if the ballot is to be mailed to you; you may pick up an application and receive a ballot in person up until 10 November.

MATTITUCK PARK DISTRICT
NOTICE OF ELECTION AND REGULAR MEETING

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to Chapter 924 of the Laws of New York, 1941, as amended, of a meeting of the legal voters of the Mattituck Park District to be held on the 12th day of November 2020. Voting will take place from 3.00PM - 8.00PM, Eastern Standard Time, at the Mattituck Park District Office, Veterans Memorial Park, 11280 Peconic Bay Blvd., Mattituck, NY 11952 for the following purpose:

1. To elect one (1) Commissioner for a three-year term commencing 1 January 2021, and expiring 31 December 2023.
2. To elect one (1) Commissioner for a two-year term commencing 1 January 2021, and expiring 31 December 2022.
3. To conduct such other business as may properly come before the regular meeting starting at 6.30 PM.

Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained at the Mattituck Park District Office, weekdays from 9.30AM – 2.00PM or by requesting one via email info@mattituckparkdistrict.org . The application for the absentee ballot must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the election (5th of November 2020) if the absentee ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or by 10 November 2020 if the absentee ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.

By order of the Governor of the State of New York any voter concerned about risk or exposure to COVID may request an absentee ballot. 

Every resident who shall have resided in the Mattituck Park District for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding the election, and whose name and address is within the boundaries of the Mattituck Park District as set forth on the Suffolk County Board of Elections voter registration listing, shall be qualified to vote.

NOTICE OF NOMINATION FOR THE OFFICE OF COMMISSIONER

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to Chapter 924 of the Laws of New York, 1941, as amended, of the nomination of:
1.    One (1) Commissioner for a three-year term commencing 1 January 2021, and expiring 31 December 2023.
2.    One (1) Commissioner for a two-year term commencing 1 January 2021, and expiring 31 December 2022.

Nominations shall be submitted in petition form and must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the Mattituck Park District, and filed with the Clerk of the District, at the Mattituck Park District Office, Veterans Memorial Park, 11280 Peconic Bay Boulevard, Mattituck, New York, not later than 12:00 PM on 26 October 2020. Petition forms are available for pick up at the Mattituck Park District Office, weekdays from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Each petition must state the name and address of each signer.

Every resident who shall have resided in the Mattituck Park District for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding the election, and whose name and address is within the boundaries of the Mattituck Park District as set forth on the Suffolk County Board of Elections voter registration listing, shall be qualified to run for Commissioner.
